The last day of September..

Perhaps the most fitting line at this moment would be "Wake me up when September ends". Now's is the time to pull up one's socks.

Well, the Formula 1 race has come and passed ever so fast. Some food for thought: although racing cars do not have a horn to show their driver's indignance at others, they are actually the loudest, with 20 of them all racing together equivalent to that of an airplane roaring above one's house, barely just clipping the television antenna.

Last friday was rather interesting. I found a wallet and being the 'knight' I am, searched far and wide to return it to its owner. The rest of the day passed with me on cloud nine. So far, I have reunited 3 people with their lost belongings. So give me a buzz the next time you lost something, it may be possible that I may have chanced upon it. A note to all though, one should consider putting some contact numbers into one's wallet so it makes the Good Samaritan's job easier to return. However, there are those who adopt the "If you lose something, it is gone; if you find something, it is yours". If that is the case, then you may have to accept reality... :(

Blue hair ribbon... Something that has been impressed upon my mind... Therein it will stay...

It is kind of sad... NO! IT IS SAD that school is ending within a week. True that one still would be returning to school to consult the teachers on one's doubts but then, school just is not the same without the company of friends. School life defines one's youthfulness and leaving it is akin to growing old. Boohoo... Alright... Time to accept it and start packing bags for the army. At least we have the guns and the new and improved uniform. And the BROTHERHOOD! ONWARD!

The life of a student... so not exciting..

Well, it is nearing the end of the two year in a tertiary institute and ha.. one does not seem smarter.. The first year passed ever so quickly, such that it was over even before one could get used to such a life.. What's more is that the second year pretty much started off with us with our noses to the grinding stone.. We were leaking blood.. One thing I have got to admit, the administration appears to need some adjustments. You see, there is a significant number of students who by some divine intervention managed to get into the second year even though their subjects are suffering!! This is a cause for concern, given that the top 20% of students are supposed to be here after their previous six years of education. Still, in their second year, they are not faring any better in their subjects than before. If only they could change their subject combination. It would SO benefit them!! imagine getting Us for one whole year and then trend continues in the first half of the foloowing year.. It is such a pitiful life..

I sincerely believe that life is too short to be spent working at computers to research for projects as well as to waste one's valuable eye power to memorise subjects which would not even be relevant to one in one's later career. The definition of the word 'prime' should be change to that between the ages of 15-20. This should be the period where one should be enjoying oneself. Saving up for the future, or preparing for then, by reading up and gaining knowledge is a tiresome process, not to mention one that is very repeatitive. The moment you learn something new, it is considered outdated in the next minute. Wow.. So fast.. Life should be taken a quarter mile at a time for what use is one's knowledge if it is at the expense of one's enjoyment??? In one's old age when one is supposedly supposed to reap what one has sown,, one could be diagnosed with numerous ailments that prevent one from gaining from what one has worked for. Loss of vision, health(today's environment is already so unhealthy with so much pollution; the future would be much worse given the cumulative effect) etc.

Students should be instead encouraged to form social relationships and engage in sports or anything out of the ordinary.. After all, a teenager's life is when he/she is the most physicall active and therefore should maximise this gift to its full potential. Talking about sports, I say if given the choice, many students would prefer to do sports then studies. One gets to do what one likes and gets paid the same, if not more, then his/her academic peers by joining and winning competitions. We have a large pool of students just waiting to release their talents into the sporting world but where are the talent scouts? They simply do not visit schools!!! The end result? Importation of atheletes, deprieving those born and bred here of their chances of making a mark in the sporting arena. Such is life.. Controlled by bigger forces that are more interested in the 'greater good' than the actual overall good..

That person...

The lively personality
The fun-loving nature
The smile
What more can I say?

Can't not help but like
Really, what's there not too?
The boldness, the freedom
Both I see similar in us

HAHAHA.. Yeah right.. Concentrate on this year's important task before you can continue with such dreams.. Chasing those out of one's league..

Only 2 more months to end of school.. 4 months to end of year.. Olympics start tomorrow! :)

Check Up

That was one nerve wrecking experience..

It was rather clinical.. Please go to station 6.. Alright.. Proceed to station 1..

Alot of guys around.. So we all were not lonely.. All in the same boat..

Love it
Intriguing it is
The words appear as such
Even though they mean much
Read it til I'm nearly blind
Alas, I lost the line
True to say
Under all this rhyme
Rhythm is nothing but a dime
Enjoy, this poem of mine

And it is the end of the schooling days..

Usually when students hear the word holidays, it is much cause for celebration. As one gets older though, that one now becomes the dreaded word. We prefer the words 'half day'; it connotates an actual holiday. The holidays like June are no longer ours to control, taken over by extra lessons and us students studying for exams which jump on us the moment we step back through the school gates. Even the weekend is not spared. We have work assigned to us that keeps us busy all throughout that supposed 'rest' period. What a ripoff. Where did the five day work week go? If that is impossible, lets extend the week to a 9 day week and then we truly can have a break!

Last day in school calls for another poem to mark this phase in life. Here goes:

Everybody, your attention please
All studying kindly cease
Take up your consoles and game
Maybe the hols will bring you fame

You study for ten months
Why don't you take a break for once?
Its finally, after all
the time you walk out of school's door

Oh sure, like we have time
A second played we lose a dime
Strain on eyesight
Wallet becomes light

Can't believe I want to return to school
Lectures, tutorials, let's go do
Ready steady
Study!

Friends

For many a night
Restless without any friendly fight
Intelligent conversation
Enagaed in a banter about the nation
Not once were you a bore
Dear you, thank you all!

April... Month of Fools

Yes.. Already the fourth month of the year 2008 and there are fools aplenty, most possibly due to all those fried brain cells yeah?

Alas that time of the year
People cease to hear
Right or wrong
I'll lead the rest in a song
Love it or leave it

Why can't everyone just take a breather?

Some lecturers just like to throw their weight around. For instance, we students are supposed to come to a lesson venue 5 minutes early and if we had a lesson before that, the teacher is supposed to release us 5 minutes before the period. Well, to the point then, one lecturer made us stay back that 5 minutes and said that it was only fair as we had arrived late at the venue. HEY.. NOW WAIT A MINUTE! This would then create a domino effect as we students would then be late for the following lesson if we had one, and we would get the same treatment. For all you know, for the first lesson of the day, the students turned up bright and early but the teacher released them late, resulting in this chain of complaints from all the teachers with whom the students have lessons with. Now, who do you think is the bud of the problem?

Alright, a rather tiring and exhausting week is going to end, leaving us less and less time for us to prepare for the coming mid-term exams as well as the important year end exams. Going out to all students, do start your studies as early as possible and if you have any queries on any topic, ask the teacher for help. Study now or risk getting a mind block when doomsday draws nearer..

I wonder, if one should have this sort of classroom environment where one need not come to school and instead rely on Internet conferencing? With this, students can do their self study and teachers can mark their assignments and return it to them through email. This way, more time can be spent by students in studying. If one is not disciplined, aha, then that's the problem. Then back to the normal way of learning you do. This thought occured to me because if one is sure of the topic, one need not waste more time attending the lecture. If any queries, email lthe teacher who is more then willing to answer it. There really should be such an option in education. Note: What I am describing is not similar to private candidates taking examinations; one has the guidance of a teacher.

Au reviour for now! :)

New thought tidbits for the hungry and curious mind

I am so psyched to start my studies.. Cannot wait for the tests wto come around..

Biology is a real interesting subject to take up. Did you know that having six fingers is the dorminant characteristic in humans? That means we are all recessive! Imagine if all of us have six fingers.. Although it would mean extra resources when it comes to making gloves for the people, we would be very good sportsmen and sportswomen. In softball and baseball, the addition of that extra digit increases the adrenaline rush of the sport as the pitcher would now be able to throw a variety of spins that would affect the ball's direction. Another dramtic benefit would be in the world of music. More fingers, a greater myriad of music scores played with ease. Being a avid piano player, I won't mind having that extra digits to help reach those ever so far notes at the other end of the keyboard..

Economics is not that a boring subject, although most students' eyelids start to droop at the mere mention of the subject. Demand affect supply, crcular flow of income, ceteris paribus etc. Well, one must say that today's world revolves around economists as they are able to foresee impending disasters in the economy or potential booms on a international scale.

Chemistry.. Ahh.. Yes.. The one subject that one must conquer so as to support one's posed photograph pouring coloured liquids from one test tube to the other. Reactions, reagents, conditions, substances and precipitates.. My, do these terms make your mind swirl?? Not to fear, study them day and night, and they will become part of you.

Last but definitely not the least, mathematics, the subject that applies most to today's society lest one wishes to accept the change of ten cents after paying for ana item that cost the same amount. Binomial and probability and so fun, just formulas and lots of concentration needed for one to excel in this intriguing subject. The tutorials really do help in one's understanding of the topic and don't be shy to approach others for assistance if one is lost among the numbers.

Friends, what can I say about them? All sorts of sizes with different personalities to match. They really do help one to pull through dark times as well as to bask in the joy of achievement. There was this one instance where I felt that nothing seems to be going right, and a friend told me that it was merely a passing phase which everyone went through so don's dwell on it. Move on! A word of advice to all, be it a poor exam result or a broken heart, do take care of yourself and learn to accept that this is fate. One cannot change the past so one should work on changing the future! Even though one's mind may wander to that painful past, one can always call up a friend for a chat to ease the pain.

So, here I am, hoping to start life anew by devoting student life to that of what a student does best. Study and Score in examinations!!!

Excuse me now while I look through my 'everything file ' for my notes.. :P

Poem

Stretch, get up now
Come on you night owl
Hurry hurry
Or the bus will scurry
Oh no, just remembered
LOL, the day is Saturday!

Hey guys, do feel free to give me topics to write poems! Cheers!
